Sharvari, who has only completed a few years in the industry, is already set to redefine her place in Bollywood, stepping into uncharted territory as she transforms into a full-fledged action star. The 27-year-old actor, who made her mark with performances in films like Munjya and Maharaj, is now preparing for what may be her most defining role yet: co-leading Alpha, the much-anticipated addition to the YRF Spy Universe, alongside Alia Bhatt.
In an exclusive interaction with Femina, Sharvari opened up about the significance of this project and the intense preparation it demanded. “It is one of the first female-led action films, where you have two women taking charge and being absolute badasses,” she shared and continued, “It feels like breaking a glass ceiling, and that’s incredibly exciting. What makes this film special is that it’s not just about the action — it carries a strong message of empowerment. I truly hope it resonates with young women and inspires them to embrace their own strength.”
Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail and backed by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, is a key installment in the expanding spy universe that already includes heavyweights like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. With Sharvari and Alia leading the narrative this time, the franchise takes a bold leap toward inclusivity and female-centric storytelling.
Sharvari further highlighted the challenges she’s faced while preparing for the physically demanding role. “The preparation for this role has been intense physically and mentally. I’ve pushed myself in ways I never have before. As we get closer to the release, I’ll be able to share more about my training, but it has definitely been a transformative journey,” said the actress.
Sharing screen space with Alia Bhatt, one of the most celebrated actors of her generation, has been another high point. “She’s an incredible actor — undoubtedly one of the best of our generation — and sharing the screen with her has been a phenomenal learning opportunity. Every single day on set felt like a masterclass, and, honestly, beyond just being a co-star, I’m looking forward to watching our scenes together as a fan too!”, she added.
With Alpha, Sharvari seems ready to enter a new phase in her career! However, we hear that it may not be the only film on the cards. Reports suggest that the actress has also kicked off work on an Imtiaz Ali film which is also expected to star Vedang Raina and Diljit Dosanjh, details of which continue to remain under wraps. In fact, rumours also suggest that the actress may have been finalized for Don 3 alongside Ranveer Singh as well.
