EXCLUSIVE: Here’s why Aditya Chopra and Luv Ranjan are mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’ in Ikka

Ikka has finally released today on Netflix and the film is much awaited as it brings together two veteran powerhouse performers – Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna. Interestingly, the opening moments of the end credits feature a surprise. The ‘Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra’ slate is followed by the names of Aditya Chopra and Luv Ranjan under the ‘Special Thanks’ section.

Bollywood Hungama spoke exclusively with Siddharth P Malhotra for the reason behind it. He said, “They (Aditya Chopra and Luv Ranjan) had worked on it. As I have mentioned in many of my interviews, lots of people helped to get this film made. Ikka bante-bante nahin bani. Everyone liked the script. But due to casting issues or financial factors, it didn’t materialize. At one point, both Adi and Luv sir made immense contributions to the script. It was only correct for me to thank them and give credit where its due.”

He added, “Iss script pe Adi ne mehnat ki thi; unke baad Luv sir ne bhi mehnat ki thi.”

The years-long struggle finally ended on a high when Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna came on board as Ikka’s lead actors. Siddharth P Malhotra admitted, “This casting is god-sent. Nobody ever thought that such casting would fall into place.”

Siddharth P Malhotra has made two films for Yash Raj Films – the 2018 box office hit Hichki and Junaid Khan’s launch vehicle, Maharaj (2024). Like Ikka, the latter was also a courtroom drama which had a direct release on Netflix.

Yesterday, a screening of Ikka was held for the media and for the cast and crew. Siddharth P Malhotra was missing and he explained the reason behind it, “I am in New York for my sister-in-law’s daughter’s wedding. It’s a wedding in my immediate family. So, I had to be here.”

He admitted, “My heart and soul are in Mumbai. I wanted to be there for the screening.”

Alliance: Soha Ali Khan makes surprise entry as host; Sohail Khan says, “Yeh ek aisa show hai jo unpredictable hai”

The latest episode of Alliance brought fresh twists to the game as a surprise appearance by Soha Ali Khan, emotional conversations and two high-stakes Knockout Challenges kept contestants on edge. Interestingly, the show is hosted by Kunal Kemmu who is also Soha’s husband. Amid many of them reacting to the Prime Video reality series which tests loyalties, with relationships inside the headquarters were seen facing renewed scrutiny after another eventful day including Sohail Khan.

The episode picked up from the aftermath of Dolly Javed and Kushal Tandon’s confrontation, with tensions still lingering among the contestants. Dolly was seen breaking down during a conversation with Nikhil Chinapa, who encouraged her to move forward despite the events that had unfolded. Meanwhile, discussions surrounding Kushal’s role in the game continued, with Ruhee Dosani and Payal Gaming questioning his approach. Payal even referred to him as the “captain of the headquarter.”

Elsewhere, Ace Arslan Goni reassured Niti Taylor amid uncertainty over her future in the competition, telling her that if the decision rested with him, she would not be leaving the headquarters. However, before the contestants could settle into the day, an unexpected system glitch froze the tracker, leaving everyone surprised.

The atmosphere shifted once the contestants assembled for the next Knockout Challenge, where Soha Ali Khan made a surprise appearance. She announced that Alliance had become the No. 1 trending show on Prime Video before interacting with Sohail Khan about his experience on the reality series.

Reflecting on his journey, Sohail said, “Bahut badia, yeh ek aisa show hai jo unpredictable hai, roz kuch na kuch naya hai (Its amazing, it’s a show that is quite unpredictable. Something new happens every day).” He further revealed that it was his children who motivated him to participate in the show and expressed his hope of making them proud.

The game then resumed with the Kings defeating the Hunters in the first Knockout Challenge. The loss forced the Hunters to decide which member would be placed on the “To Be Deleted” list. What began as a discussion soon turned into an argument after Rivva Kishan called Vriddhi Patwa “darpok.” Following deliberations, the alliance ultimately chose Vriddhi’s name for the list.

The Kings continued their winning run by defeating the Warriors in the next challenge, once again putting the losing alliance in the difficult position of deciding which teammate would face elimination. With every round reshaping alliances and testing trust, the competition inside the headquarters continues to become increasingly unpredictable.

Saira Banu pays tribute to Dilip Kumar on his 5th death anniversary; says, “His memories continue to live on”

Actress Saira Banu paid tribute to her late husband, actor Dilip Kumar, on the fifth anniversary of his death, marking the occasion with a personal note shared on her social media account on July 7. In the note, Banu reflected on memory, love and companionship, referring to Kumar by the affectionate name “Sahib” throughout.

She wrote, “The most beautiful thing about life is that it never truly departs. It lingers, in memories. And memories, unlike time, are faithful companions. They return unbidden, in quiet moments and in crowded ones alike, carrying with them every smile, every glance, every word, as though nothing has ever truly been lost. To remember someone is, perhaps, the purest proof that they have never been forgotten.

I often believe that Sahib bestowed upon me a treasure beyond measure before he took his leave of this earthly world, a treasury of memories so rich, so abundant, that I shall spend the remainder of my days living amongst them.

On this very day, the 7th of July, 2021, Dilip Kumar left not only me, but an entire world that had cherished him. His family, his friends, his admirers across generations, and his brethren in the fraternity of cinema were all left with an emptiness that words shall never quite suffice to describe. Yet, for me, he was far more than the man the world celebrated. He was the steadfast anchor of my life, the quiet strength upon which I leaned for so many blessed years.

I count my blessings with profound gratitude, for ours was not merely a life lived together, it was a life fulfilled. As long as Sahib was by my side, I never found reason to concern myself with the burdens and trivialities of the worldly existence. Such was the generosity of his spirit, such was the grace with which he shouldered every responsibility, that he allowed me the rare privilege simply to be his companion.

The world shall forever remember him as one of the greatest artists to have ever adorned the silver screen. His devotion to his craft was unparalleled. Yet those who truly knew him shall remember a far gentler greatness, a philanthropist whose kindness knew no measure, a friend held in the highest esteem by the most distinguished amongst men, and above all, a human being whose compassion was as boundless as his dignity.

As I look back upon the years we shared, I realise something that had escaped me whilst I was living those very moments. I was not merely witnessing history, I was dwelling within it. Day by day, unknowingly, I became a humble part of a legacy that generations shall continue to celebrate.

Five years have passed since Sahib departed from my sight, yet never from my life. Love of such depth does not submit to time, nor does companionship of such grace surrender to absence. He continues to reside wherever my memories wander, and they wander to him every single day.

If I have been fortunate in this lifetime, it is because I was granted the immeasurable honour of loving, and being loved by, Dilip Kumar.

And that is a blessing for which my soul shall remain grateful until we meet again.”

Dilip Kumar died on July 7, 2021. The tribute marks five years since his death.

Aditya Dhar drops heartfelt birthday post for Ranveer Singh; calls his Dhurandhar performance ‘one of the finest in Indian cinema’

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar marked Ranveer Singh’s birthday with an emotional social media post, sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the sets of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Along with the unseen photos, the director penned a heartfelt note praising the actor’s dedication, craft and the bond they built while working together on the two films.

Sharing the post on Instagram, Aditya reflected on his experience of directing Ranveer in the action dramas, describing the collaboration as one of the most memorable of his career. He penned, “Happy Birthday, Ranveer Singh. Some films stay with you forever. Dhurandhar will always be one of those films for me. Not just because of the story we told but because I got to witness something very few directors ever get to witness. I’ve always known you’re an extraordinary actor. But this journey made me fall in love with the artist you are and even more with the human being behind the artist.”

The filmmaker went on to recall several key sequences from the film that left a lasting impression on him and shared, “There were days on Dhurandhar that I knew I was witnessing something incredibly rare. The 26/11 sequence. The final tea shop scene. The Pathankot massacre. The pump house scene. The court exterior. Just to name a few. Take after take, scene after scene, you never once looked for the easy choice. Every emotion landed exactly where it needed to. Every silence had meaning. Every glance had intent. Every beat was pitch perfect.”

Praising Ranveer’s consistency, Aditya further wrote, “The consistency was almost impossible to comprehend. It genuinely felt like watching someone touched by divine grace. As though Maa Saraswati herself had placed her hand on your head and blessed you with every ounce of artistic brilliance she could. As a director, there are moments you spend your entire career hoping to experience. You gave me those moments again and again.”

He added, “I truly believe what you’ve done in Dhurandhar is one of the finest performances Indian cinema has ever seen. It isn’t just a performance, it is a force of nature. Fearless, towering and so complete that it disappears into the soul of the character. I have no doubt people will talk about this performance for years, perhaps generations to come. But what I’ll cherish even more is everything that happened between “Action” and “Cut.” The conversations. The shared conviction. The relentless pursuit of getting every single moment right.”

Concluding the note on a personal note, the filmmaker continued, “Somewhere along the way, you stopped being just my actor. You became my brother. Happy Birthday, brother.”

Released in December 2025, Dhurandhar emerged as one of the biggest cinematic successes of the year, with audiences and critics responding positively to its scale and performances. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which hit theatres in March 2026, continued the momentum and went on to achieve another record-breaking run at the box office, further cementing the franchise as one of the biggest successes in recent times.

Dhurandhar production designer Rupin Suchak reveals Alia Bhatt’s major role in transforming his career: “She entrusted me with designing her home. That project opened an ENTIRELY new chapter”

Rupin Suchak is a reputed production designer who has worked on several prominent films, including Go Goa Gone (2013), Happy Ending (2014), Dear Zindagi (2016), Pad Man (2018) and Khel Khel Mein (2024). He also served as an additional production designer on the much-loved Dhurandhar (2025) and Dhurandhar The Revenge (2025). Apart from designing film sets, Rupin has also carved a niche for himself as an interior designer. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, he revealed how Alia Bhatt played an important role in this transition, helping interior design become a major part of his practice.

Rupin Suchak said, “After nearly five years in production design, the turning point came unexpectedly when I was commissioned to design the office of filmmakers (R) Balki and Gauri Shinde. What started as a single project altered the direction of my career.”

He further said, “During the project, Alia Bhatt visited the office and responded strongly to the design. Not long afterwards, she entrusted me with designing her home. That project opened an entirely new chapter. One commission led to another and before long interior design had become a major part of my practice.”

In the same interview, Rupin Suchak admitted that designing for films and designing people’s homes are two vastly different experiences. He remarked, “I often joke that I have spent most of my career building worlds that people either inhabit for years or encounter for two seconds on screen.”

He also added, “Ironically, the biggest challenge in moving from film sets to homes was not creativity but patience. Film production runs on relentless deadlines. Interiors demand long conversations, planning, collaboration and attention to how people actually live.”

He signed off by stating, “Whether I am working on a film, a commercial or a residence, the objective remains remarkably similar. I want people to feel something. The medium changes. The story changes. But my desire to create memorable worlds does not.”

The ceremony was attended by around 100 to 150 guests, comprising close family members, childhood friends and a select group of industry colleagues. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker was among those present at the private celebration.

A relationship that came full circle

Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt’s journey began nearly 25 years ago when they first met before eventually losing touch. The two reconnected in 2024 through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan, in Bengaluru. Their relationship reportedly continued as a long-distance one before Aamir publicly introduced Gauri as his partner during his 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025.

Following that announcement, Gauri relocated from Bengaluru to Mumbai and has since been associated with Aamir Khan Productions.

Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi faces delay as CBFC withholds clearance certificate despite title change

Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi, previously titled Battle of Galwan, has encountered another hurdle ahead of its theatrical release. According to an NDTV report, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has withheld the film’s clearance certificate until further notice, casting uncertainty over its release schedule.

The film, inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, was initially slated to release on April 17, ahead of Eid. The date was later postponed, with the makers reportedly eyeing an August release around the Independence Day weekend. However, with the certification process still pending, the film is now expected to miss that release window as well.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan under the Salman Khan Films banner, Maatrubhumi stars Salman Khan in the role of Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who led Indian soldiers during the Galwan Valley confrontation while implementing a disengagement agreement at the border. Chitrangda Singh plays the female lead, while Abhilash Chaudhary and Ankur Bhatia also feature in pivotal roles. The film’s music has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

The film had already sparked controversy even before its release. Following the circulation of its teaser online, several users on the Chinese social media platform Weibo criticised the project, alleging that it misrepresented the events surrounding the Galwan Valley clash.

Earlier this year, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) distanced itself from reports suggesting it had objected to the film. Responding to questions on the matter, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We understand that a film of this nature is being planned. Issues regarding filmmaking in India, as you are well aware, are looked after by the relevant authorities. And as far as we are concerned, MEA has no role in this or such ventures.”

Sources had earlier indicated that the makers had changed the title from Battle of Galwan to Maatrubhumi, with related modifications being incorporated into the project. “The title of the film was recently changed from Battle of Galwan to Maatrubhumi. Changes are being made accordingly. It is likely that the release of the film may be further delayed. It is likely to be released in August around the Independence Day weekend,” sources had said.

The teaser for Maatrubhumi was unveiled on December 27, 2025, coinciding with Salman Khan’s 60th birthday. The actor was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna. With the CBFC yet to grant certification, the release date of Maatrubhumi now remains uncertain.

For a genre once dismissed as a cheap Friday night filler, horror has spent the last few years quietly rewriting the rules of what fills a cinema hall. Audiences are lining up in the thousands, not for a spectacle of superheroes or explosions, but for the promise of being genuinely, deliciously frightened.

That appetite shows no sign of slowing down. The back half of 2026 is stacked with horror releases that range from franchise legacy titles returning for another round to auteur-driven originals built to unsettle rather than simply startle. Whether it is a demon-possessed reboot, a purgatorial haunting, or a werewolf stalking 13th-century England, here is what is coming to a theatre near you.

Evil Dead Burn

The sixth instalment of one of horror’s oldest and most beloved franchises, Evil Dead Burn, arrives with a pedigree that fans will not want to miss. Sébastien Vaniček takes the director’s chair, while Sam Raimi, who helmed the original Evil Dead, returns as producer alongside longtime collaborator Rob Tapert. Billed as the franchise’s most savage chapter yet, the film promises an all-new dose of carnage and demonic mayhem when it hits screens on 10th July.

Insidious: Out of the Further

Since its debut in 2010, the Insidious franchise has reportedly grossed more than $740 million worldwide, cementing itself as one of horror’s most enduring universes. The new entry, Insidious: Out of the Further, follows a young mother named Gemma, played by Amelia Eve, raising her daughter in the very house she grew up in. When Gemma discovers she can travel into The Further, the purgatorial realm at the heart of the series, she also uncovers a far more dangerous ability: she can bring what lives there back with her. Once the demons realise what she is capable of, the real world becomes their playground. The film releases on August 21.

Resident Evil

The eighth film in the Resident Evil franchise arrives courtesy of Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind Weapons and Barbarian. This all-new story follows Bryan, a medical courier played by Austin Abrams, who finds himself caught in a non-stop fight for survival as one horrifying night spirals into chaos around him. Resident Evil is set to release on 18th September.

Clayface

Set within James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU, Clayface takes a sharp turn into body horror. Tom Rhys Harries stars as a B-grade movie star who injects himself with an experimental substance to stay relevant, with predictably horrifying results. Directed by James Watkins, the film’s script comes from Mike Flanagan, best known for Doctor Sleep and The Haunting of Hill House, giving the project serious horror credentials behind the camera.

Werwulf

Set in 13th-century England, Werwulf stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe, with filmmaker Robert Eggers at the helm. Eggers, known for The Lighthouse, The Witch and The Northman, has described the film as the darkest thing he has ever written, by far. Given his track record for slow-burning, atmospheric dread, that is a statement horror fans will take seriously.

Between legacy franchises returning to their roots and auteurs pushing the genre into stranger, more unsettling territory, the second half of 2026 leaves little doubt that horror’s box office dominance is far from over. The only question left for audiences is which nightmare to walk into first.

Abhishek Bachchan gets candid about early career insecurities in Bollywood: “Kaam milega, nahin milega”

Abhishek Bachchan has completed over 26 years in the Hindi film industry, a journey that began with his debut in Refugee in 2000. As the son of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, the actor entered the industry amid enormous expectations. While he went on to deliver memorable performances in several acclaimed films, he also experienced his share of box office disappointments, something that left him grappling with the fear of whether work would continue to come his way.

In a conversation with ETimes, Abhishek looked back on his career and said the biggest transformation over the years has been becoming more confident and comfortable with himself. “I think when I started out, there was a bit of discomfort. But now, I’m more comfortable being in front of the camera. When you’re just being yourself and comfortable in your skin, that gives you clarity on decisions you need to take,” he said.

The actor explained that years of experience have given him greater clarity, especially when it comes to selecting projects. He admitted that during the early phase of his career, excitement and insecurity often influenced his decisions. “I’m very clear today or I would say in the last five to seven years about what I don’t want to do. Initially in your career, there’s such excitement and such insecurity about kaam milega, nahin milega. Whatever comes your way, you do.”

According to Abhishek, maturity has brought with it the confidence to make more thoughtful career choices, allowing him to be more selective about the roles he accepts. “There’s a lot more conviction in that, and that comes from a certain maturity and calmness. I think that helps in your work as well. We’re not all over the place anymore, I’d like to believe,” he added.

Throughout his career, Abhishek has earned praise for his performances in films such as Guru, Bunty Aur Babli, and the Dhoom franchise, showcasing his versatility across genres. Despite frequently being compared with his father, Amitabh Bachchan, and his contemporaries, the actor said he has never viewed others’ achievements as a source of insecurity. “I’ve never been an insecure actor in terms of, ‘Yeh kya kar raha hai?’ Insecure about my capabilities, yes. I think all actors are. You always wonder, ‘Will I be able to do this?’”

On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan is preparing for the release of King, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the highly anticipated film also features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Rani Mukerji, and is slated to hit theatres later this year.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC censors multiple stabbing visuals in Alpha; deletes foul word

Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to inform readers that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed Alpha with a U/A 16+ certificate. In this article, we’ll exclusively focus on the cuts given to the Alia Bhatt-Sharvari starrer.

The good news is that the CBFC’s Examining Committee have asked for very few modifications. To begin with, the makers were asked to redraft the disclaimer at the beginning of the film. Subtitles were inserted for all the songs. The producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), were also asked to mention the opening cards and end scrolls in the applied language, that is, Hindi.

Now coming to the cuts. Visuals in a scene in the first half of Alpha were reduced and replaced with alternative visuals. However, no detail was provided about these visuals. A similar cut was done in another point in the first half as well. In the second half, the visuals of multiple stabbings were asked to be reduced and replaced with alternative visuals. Lastly, a foul word was asked to be deleted in the first half.

The CBFC’s Examining Committee asked the makers to insert anti-alcohol static in all scenes of alcohol consumption. Lastly, as per the rules, the makers were asked to submit the parents’ consent letter of the child artist.

Once these changes were made, the makers of Alpha were handed over the censor certificate on June 29. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 140.48 minutes. In other words, Alpha is 2 hours, 20 minutes and 48 seconds long.

Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama also exclusively reported that the first half of Alpha is 1 hour, 13 minutes and 32 seconds long. The run time of the second half is 1 hour, 7 minutes and 16 seconds.

Alpha belongs to the YRF Spy Universe and is directed by Shiv Rawail. It releases in cinemas on Friday, July 3.

EXCLUSIVE: Welcome To The Jungle made on Rs. 125 cr budget; Akshay Kumar forgoes fee for profit share

One of the biggest talking points surrounding Welcome To The Jungle isn’t just its massive ensemble cast or its box office performance, but also Akshay Kumar’s unique remuneration model. Instead of charging his customary acting fee upfront, the superstar opted for a backend arrangement, agreeing to take no salary for the film and instead coming on board on a profit-sharing basis. The move significantly reduced the film’s upfront production cost while giving Akshay a vested interest in the film’s long-term commercial success.

According to trade estimates, Welcome To The Jungle has been mounted on a controlled production budget of Rs. 125 crores. The largest chunk of the expenditure has gone into the film’s shoot, with production costs amounting to Rs. 60 crores. Given the film’s scale, action sequences and extensive ensemble cast, the figure reflects an attempt to balance spectacle with financial prudence.

Interestingly, the cost of the cast has been kept at Rs. 35 crores, a number that is considerably lower than what one would typically expect from a film featuring multiple established actors. The biggest reason behind this is Akshay Kumar’s decision to forgo an acting fee. Industry insiders believe that had the actor charged his regular remuneration, the film’s budget would have swelled substantially.

The technical crew and director’s remuneration account for another Rs. 15 crores, while Rs. 15 crores have been allocated towards print and publicity, taking the total cost of production to Rs. 125 crores.

The backend deal is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the film’s financial structure. Rather than earning a fixed amount irrespective of the film’s performance, Akshay has tied his earnings directly to the profits generated after the producers recover their investment.

At present, Welcome To The Jungle has collected Rs. 64.85 crores at the domestic box office.

Firoz Nadiadwala confirms Hera Pheri 3 is happening ‘very soon’; opens up about Welcome To The Jungle, “We can guarantee effort, not result”

The future of Hera Pheri 3 has remained a topic of discussion for fans over the past several months, especially after the project faced uncertainty following Paresh Rawal’s temporary exit from the film. While the veteran actor eventually returned to the franchise, there has been little official update on when the much-awaited sequel will finally go on floors.

Now, producer Firoz Nadiadwala has reassured fans that the third instalment of the popular comedy franchise is very much in the pipeline. Speaking recently to ANI, the producer confirmed that Hera Pheri 3 will be happening “very soon,” offering a fresh update on one of Hindi cinema’s most anticipated sequels.

Although Firoz did not reveal a production timeline or shooting schedule, his statement comes amid growing curiosity surrounding the project, particularly since Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal have all been occupied with multiple professional commitments over the past few months.

The trio was recently seen sharing screen space in Welcome To The Jungle, the latest instalment in another popular comedy franchise produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film features an ensemble cast of 32 actors, including Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and several others.

Reflecting on the audience response to Welcome To The Jungle, Firoz spoke about his philosophy as a producer and emphasised the importance of continuing to improve a film’s reach even after its release. Stating how they were putting out a new trailer till the last moment, Firoz added, “We can guarantee effort, not result. Have you heard that phrase, ‘Till my last breath’. I don’t subscribe to that. Rashmika Mandanna to soon join Pushpa co-star Allu Arjun for Mumbai schedule of Raaka: Report

It is a known fact that Rashmika Mandanna will be reuniting with Pushpa co-star Allu Arjun for director Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi fantasy action film, Raaka. Now, according to an exclusive report by Variety India, the film’s Mumbai schedule is expected to commence soon, marking the next phase of production on one of the most anticipated big-budget projects currently in development.

If the report is accurate, Raaka will mark Rashmika and Allu Arjun’s first collaboration since the Pushpa franchise, where the duo shared screen space as Srivalli and Pushpa Raj. Their on-screen pairing was well received by audiences and contributed to the popularity of the films across multiple markets.

The report further suggests that Rashmika will be seen in a negative role in Raaka, signalling a departure from the characters she has portrayed in several of her recent films. While the makers are yet to officially reveal details about her character, the role is expected to showcase a different facet of the actress’ screen persona.

Welcome To The Jungle Box Office: Film takes a good opening on Friday, is amongst the Top-3 of the year

Welcome To The Jungle carried forward the momentum set on Thursday paid preview shows when 4.07 crores came in, as Friday numbers went past the Rs. 15 crores mark. This is amongst the Top-3 opening days of 2026 and we are halfway into the year, which says a lot. It’s getting increasingly difficult to get audiences in theatres and if a film opens just after Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 then that’s a good deal indeed.

In fact, Akshay Kumar has two of his movies in the Top-5 of the year as Bhooth Bangla finds a place in there as well. That goes on to show how the superstar enjoys a loyal fan following and also why he instills confidence in the supply chain of producers, distributors and exhibitors. With back to back successes behind him already, this is going to be the biggest of them in the recent times all as the lifetime would be chasing Bhooth Bangla.

This is pretty much possible since Friday collections stood at Rs. 15.33 crores and that has pushed the overall total (including paid previews) to Rs. 19.40 crores. Today, the film should grow well even though it’s the day after the partial holiday of Muharram. The target would be Rs. 20 crores and once that happens then the game would be set for the biggie to have a long run. What matters is that audience word of mouth is quite positive and that should set it up well for a hefty lifetime total.

Actor and author Soha Ali Khan addressed her personal experience with perimenopause in the latest episode of her podcast All About Her, detailing a range of physical and emotional symptoms that led her to explore bioidentical hormone therapy. And for me, for example, there was an abdominal weight gain suddenly because I’ve weighed the same my whole entire life and then suddenly I put on a couple of kilos and it was that sort of abdominal fat retention that I’m told happens when your hormones go out of whack. There was dryness, there was acne. I mean I’ve never since I was a teenager had acne and then suddenly had breakouts on my jaw. One of the advantages of aging is that you don’t get acne. So, I was like what is going on? Insomnia, trouble falling asleep and then you go to sleep and you wake up at 3:00 am and your heart is beating fast and there’s anxiety and there’s loss of energy and you just feel like everything just sucks and how are you supposed to cope with it all? And that’s when I came to you and you told me about bioidentical hormone therapy.”
