He wrote, “Happy Children’s Day from Pilot Baba… and His minion co-pilots… who are currently taking off to conquer the skies on a bright sunny day! P.S. – Fasten your seat-belts real tight because, ‘Pilot Baba ki flight mein kabhi brake nahi lagti!’ Also… Guess the movie in which Pilot Baba ne kabhie plane nahi udaayi! Sirf aadmi udaayein!”

From Munni in Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s co-star: Harshaali Malhotra steals the show at Akhanda 2 song launch with her cute stage moment

Nandamuri Balakrishna, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Sangay Tsheltrim, singer Kailash Kher, director Boyapati Srinu, music Director S Thaman, producer Gopi Achanta and many others attended the launch of the song ‘The Thaandavam’ from Akhanda 2: Thaandavam at a multiplex in Mumbai. Everyone from the team came on stage and talked about their experience.

From Munni in Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan to Nandamuri Balakrishna's co-star: Harshaali Malhotra steals the show at Akhanda 2 song launch with her cute stage moment

Harshaali Malhotra, last seen as the adorable Munni in the Salman Khan-starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), stole the show. She came on stage and addressed the crowd, “First of all, hi to everyone. How are you all doing?” A fan shouted, “We love you,” and Harshaali flashed her million-dollar smile and said, “Thank you!”

She also said, “I was very happy when I bagged this film. I was so happy that after 10 years, I’ll be back in cinemas, that too with the legend of South and India, NBK sir. Hence, I was very grateful.”

As expected, Nandamuri Balakrishna aka NBK came last and entertained the attendees with his replies. He began by discussing his non-film work and starting a cancer hospital after his mother’s sad demise. He talked about each and every person on the stage and his experience of working with them.

Regarding Harshaali Malhotra, Nandamuri Balakrishna said, “She’s very lucky to do this film after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. She has a crucial part and I can’t say much about her role. I just want to speak about this actress, who was the young girl in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.”

NBK then stated, “There’s a child actor with us as well here. Where’s Veda?” Veda Agarwal, who was present at the venue, came on stage. Nandamuri informed the audience, “She was in my other film, Daaku Maharaaj (2025), as well. She’s based in Mumbai.”

Nandamuri Balakrishna asked her, “How are you,” and kissed her cheeks. Veda replied, “I am fine”. NBK turned to Harshaali, “You were of the same age when you worked in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, right?”

He asked Beda Agarwal, “How old are you? Sharmana mat. Tum choti bacchi ho. Bol do!” Veda confidently replied, “I am 9 years old.” Harshaali Malhotra replied, “I was 6 (when I shot for Bajrangi Bhaijaan).”

Nandamuri Balakrishna was astonished by her answer. He then remarked, “But Veda and I shot for Daaku Maharaj 3 years ago. So that makes Veda of the same age (as Harshaali when she worked on her debut film).”

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam releases in cinemas on December 5.

Sunita Ahuja says she discovered Govinda’s health update only after watching his interview

In a recent vlog, actress Sunita Ahuja revealed she first learnt about her husband Govinda’s hospital visit through his interview. Two days after the actor’s discharge from Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital, Sunita said she was unaware of the incident until she tuned in later.

Sunita Ahuja says she discovered Govinda’s health update only after watching his interview

Sunita explained, “I have just returned and watched an interview where it was mentioned that he suffered fatigue due to over-exercising. But he’s doing well now. Don’t worry.” According to earlier reports, Govinda fainted at home around 1 a.m. on Wednesday and was promptly assisted and taken to hospital for tests and observation before being released the same afternoon. He assured media that he was “completely fit.”

Addressing the cause, Sunita noted her husband’s over-enthusiastic workout routine ahead of his upcoming film Duniyadaari. She said, “Govinda is completely fit. He was working out to prepare for his new film Duniyadaari when he fainted.” In his media interaction, Govinda had attributed the fainting spell to “fatigue,” advising his fans to adopt yoga and pranayam in their fitness regimes.

The vlog also touched upon a separate matter related to the couple’s dynamic. Sunita criticised Govinda’s public apology to his family priest, stating, “I didn’t like how Govinda apologised to his priest with folded hands. I never mentioned anyone’s name; I was just sharing one of our personal experiences. If anyone felt hurt by my words, I apologise to them and to all priests. Govinda has three different priests he didn’t need to name anyone or publicly apologise. I felt very bad that he had to do that because of me.”

Govinda and Sunita married in March 1987 and later welcomed their daughter Tina in 1988 and son Yashvardhan in 1997.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have officially moved into their sprawling new six-storey residence in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area a home they’ve named “Krishna Raj”. During a recent event in Dubai, Alia shared with the audience, “Coming to Dubai feels like a homecoming. This visit comes from a very personal space as we have just moved into our new home in Mumbai.”

Alia Bhatt reveals Ranbir Kapoor’s secret Instagram account: “Ranbir has just two reels with his daughter Raha”

The couple’s new address occupies the former residence of legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s grandmother, Krishna Raj Kapoor, lending the house both legacy and grandeur. The grey-coloured structure, complete with glass-balconies, has quickly become one of Mumbai’s most talked-about homes.

When asked about his social-media presence, Ranbir confirmed that he maintains a private “finsta” (fake Instagram account) to observe content quietly. “There are such amazing people in the world who do such amazing work and I do watch and follow them. But because I am an actor I do not officially want to be on Instagram as then I will have a responsibility to really show myself to the world. But I felt that I already have a medium, which is through acting and in movies, and that’s enough to show myself to the worlds.”

Alia added a sweet personal detail on that private account, “Ranbir has “just two reels, both featuring him playing with his daughter Raha. He has zero followers, he doesn’t even let me follow him, and he manually shows me the clips instead. Once I follow him, then it’ll be out that I have an Instagram account.”

The reveal offers a glimpse into the couple’s more private world the new home they’re building, and the family-first approach they’re maintaining to social media and public life.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra celebrates 32 years of Baazigar with a nostalgic montage: “What a ride it’s been!”

Time truly flies, but classics remain timeless. Baazigar, one of the most iconic thrillers in Bollywood history, has completed an incredible 32 years since its release in 1993. Directed by Abbas-Mustan and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra, the film continues to hold a special place in the hearts of audiences across generations.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra celebrates 32 years of Baazigar with a nostalgic montage: “What a ride it’s been!”

Marking the milestone, Shilpa Shetty took to social media to share an old-school montage from the film, featuring some of its most memorable moments. Expressing her emotions through a short yet heartfelt caption, she wrote, “#32YearsofBaazigar & what a ride it’s been!” The post quickly garnered attention from fans and film enthusiasts who continue to celebrate the movie’s legacy even decades later.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra celebrates 32 years of Baazigar with a nostalgic montage: “What a ride it’s been!”

Loosely inspired by the 1991 film A Kiss Before Dying, based on Ira Levin’s 1953 novel of the same name, Baazigar struck the right chord with audiences thanks to its gripping storyline, unexpected twists, and strong performances.

For Shilpa Shetty, Baazigar marked not only a career-defining role but also her debut in Bollywood. The actress, who continues to be admired for her iconic scene in the movie — a moment that still circulates widely on social media — had once shared her experience of shooting it. “Akbar Bhai was the action director for the film, and we shot that scene nearly five times. I had a scar on my hip for nearly 8-10 years of my life because I was asked to wear a harness. Back in those times, we did not have any VFX. So, I had to act authentically to show what I was feeling, and the building was moving. But the makers thought that the scene could be shot better,” she said, adding with a laugh, “I have died nearly 15 times.”

Three decades later, Baazigar remains a cult favourite — a film that not only established Shah Rukh Khan as a star capable of taking risks but also marked the beginning of Shilpa Shetty’s remarkable journey in Indian cinema.

Dharmendra in a throwback interview: “I want to see diseases, corruption and discrimination eliminated from our country”

When India’s handsomest actor Dharmendra turned a young sprightly 89 on December 8 last year, his fans and well-wishers kept him busy throughout the day.

Dharmendra in a throwback interview: “I want to see diseases, corruption and discrimination eliminated from our country”

This writer had finally caught up with one of the most affable human beings in the entertainment industry late in the evening when Dharamji was exhausted. “But how can I not take your call even if I’m tired? You’ve always been so warm and loving, not only to me but also to Hema. My birthday wouldn’t be complete without your good wishes,” said Dharamji.

The only other actor who had the ability to make me feel so special was Dev Anand. Dev Saab is gone. I miss him.

“I was down with dengue for a while. Now there’s just some pain in my knees. Otherwise I am fine. I forced the dengue out of my knees,” Dharamji joked.

Always, that perfect comic timing. Remember Chupke ChupkePratiggya and Yamla Pagla Deewana?

Dharamji confessed he misses the camera. “I belong in front of the camera. I finally did a film (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani) after some time. My fans and well-wishers miss me. Unke pyar ne mujhe zinda rakha hai. They’re my oxygen.”

I remind him of how much positivity and joy he spreads by just being himself.

Dharmendra in a throwback interview: “I want to see diseases, corruption and discrimination eliminated from our country”

Laughing shyly, Dharamji said, “God sent me down here to spread happiness, to put smiles on as many faces as possible during my lifetime. When you say I’ve succeeded in doing that, I feel my life is fulfilled. I can’t thank the Almighty up there and my well-wishers down here enough for all the love that I get. If I’ve been able to give back even a fraction of that love that I’ve got, I am a happy man.”

I asked Dharamji about his unfulfilled dreams, and he said, “I want to see every human being freed of pain. I want to see diseases, corruption and discrimination eliminated from our country. You say it’s impossible? I’ve always dreamt of the impossible. I was a boy from a small village in Punjab. Who would have thought I’d be loved by everyone?”

Does Dharamji have any favourite films from his oeuvre? “So many… They’re all special. But Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee)’s Anupama, Satyakam and Chupke Chupke were special.”

Coincidentally, his co-star in all the three favourite films was Sharmila Tagore who is born on the same day as Dharamji.

So, is Sharmila Tagore his favourite co-star?

“One of my favourites. But my most favourite co-star is Hema,” he said shyly.

At PVR INOX, we are pleased to see the continued enthusiasm for content-driven cinema. It had 100% growth on Saturday and expecting further growth of 40-45% on Sunday. We look forward to seeing how Haq continues to perform in the coming weeks and how viewers across regions respond to its compelling narrative.”

He added, “By Saturday evening, Haq was trending among the top choices for walk-ins, especially in urban centres. The film’s appeal seems to be cutting across demographics, drawing families, youth, and even senior audiences who have praised its emotional intensity and courtroom realism.”

With Sunday bookings showing continued strength, Haq is now poised to close its opening weekend on a high note. Exhibitors feel the film will enjoy an extended run, with word-of-mouth expected to drive consistent footfalls well into the coming week.

The film’s appeal seems to be cutting across demographics, drawing families, youth, and even senior audiences who have praised its emotional intensity and courtroom realism. Several theatres in Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, and Hyderabad reported notable increases in late-evening shows, with repeat viewers beginning to emerge which lately is a rare phenomenon for a serious social drama.

Trade experts are crediting the surge to Haq’s powerful word-of-mouth. Positive reviews, led by unanimous praise for Yami Gautam’s commanding performance and Emraan Hashmi’s impactful portrayal, has translated into audience curiosity.

Ashish Pandey, Head Programming, MovieMax Cinemas said, “Haq showed impressive growth on Saturday compared to Friday, reflecting strong word-of-mouth and audience appreciation. This augurs well for a sustained run at the box office. We’re seeing a growth of approx. 100% in Saturday compared to Friday and expect a further 30-35% growth on Sunday.”

Anurag Kashyap says that Boney Kapoor offered him a film and flat after Paanch: “He told me, ‘Tu Bandra se Juhu ke beech kisi bhi building pe ungli rakh de. Uss building mein tujhe flat dilwata hoon’!”

Anurag Kashyap had a fascinating conversation with Komal Nahta and revealed that as a producer, he tries to be a part of the initial films of a director. He remarked, “Directors baukhla jaaye uske pehle main unke saath film banana chahta hoon!”

Anurag Kashyap says that Boney Kapoor offered him a film and flat after Paanch: “He told me, ‘Tu Bandra se Juhu ke beech kisi bhi building pe ungli rakh de. Uss building mein tujhe flat dilwata hoon’!”

Anurag added, “I feel that every filmmaker goes a bit crazy after some point. Even today, I feel that if my (yet-unreleased) film Paanch had got a timely release in cinemas, I wouldn’t have been the person that I am today.”

He continued, “I remember Paanch had several trials. Boney Kapoor ji offered me a film at that time. Those were the days when I had arrogance. He asked me, ‘Why are you not making a film? Tu Bandra se Juhu ke beech kisi bhi building pe ungli rakh de. Uss building mein tujhe flat dilwata hoon’! I wondered, ‘My film hasn’t been released and he’s offering me a flat. After my film releases, I’ll be offered a bungalow’!”

In this interview, Anurag also lashed out at inflated ticket rates in cinemas, “Not just ticket prices, everything in a multiplex is quite expensive. It should all be affordable. Visiting a multiplex feels like stepping into a five-star hotel. Why would anyone spend so much money? It’s a self-defeating exercise because now a common man saves money to see only 2 films in a year.”

He continued, “2 samosas are sold for Rs. 200. A bottle of water is priced at Rs. 50. It is a very five-star type of experience, though cinema is supposed to be for the common man.”

Anurag listed out the basic essentials that a cinema hall should have, “You just ensure that the toilet is clean, seats are comfortable. That’s it.”

The Academy Museum also confirmed the announcement, stating: “‘Bramayugam’ [2024] [Malayalam], produced by Night Shift Studios & YNOT Studios and written & directed by Rahul Sadasivan, will screen at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Bramayugam, released in February 2024, is a period folk-horror thriller that deep dives into Kerala’s sacred mysteries, myths and ancient folklore. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the film is the second chapter in his expanding horror universe following Bhoothakaalam (2022). Shot entirely in black-and-white, the film stars Mammootty in one of his most chilling performances, alongside Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan.

The film drew widespread critical acclaim for its atmospheric world-building, genre-defying storytelling and Mammootty’s layered portrayal of Kodumon Potti. His performance earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor — his seventh win in the category — further cementing the film’s cultural impact.

The Academy Museum recognition marks another milestone for Bramayugam, placing Malayalam cinema firmly on the global stage. The film’s inclusion in a series celebrating international folklore underscores its thematic depth, visual ambition and rooted storytelling.

With this honour, Bramayugam continues its journey from regional success to international recognition — a proud moment for Mammootty, the cast and crew, and Malayalam cinema as a whole.
