EXCLUSIVE: Meet Neha Khan, the bold, stunning and stylish surprise in Milap Zaveri’s Tera Yaar Hoon Main

This year, Bollywood will get a new debutant in the form of Aman Indra Kumar. He’s all set to be launched in Tera Yaar Hoon Main, directed by Milap Zaveri and produced by Aman’s father, Indra Kumar. The film had a grand launch in November 2024 and was attended by superstars Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan. At the event, Aman and the actress of the film, Akanksha Sharma, were introduced to the media. Bollywood Hungama has now learned that there’s one more actress who features in Tera Yaar Hoon Main in a plum role – Neha Khan.

A source close to the project told us, “Neha Khan is one of the leads in the movie. Her audition impressed the makers and hence, they decided to hand over her the role of Tanisha. She is excited to bag the part of the sizzling and bold girl and hopes that she also becomes the talking point once Tera Yaar Hoon Main releases.”

Neha Khan has earlier worked in films like Uvaa (2015), Ghayal Once Again (2016), Operation Romeo (2022) etc. Tera Yaar Hoon Main, however, marks her first film where she’ll be seen in a full-fledged role.

When contacted, Neha Khan said, “I’m playing one of the primary lead roles in Tera Yaar Hoon Main. My character Tanisha’s character is a stunning young woman. She is charming, confident and incredibly attractive. She has a magnetic presence and can grab everyone’s attention in just seconds. She’s bold and stylish, and brings a strong energy to the story.”

She further said, “It was an amazing experience shooting for this film. I shot for about 8-10 days in Mumbai, and the entire team was fantastic to work with. The role allowed me to explore a vibrant, high-impact character, which was exciting.”

Neha Khan signed off by saying, “There’s also a song featuring me in the film, which I can’t wait for the audience to see. It’s glamorous, high-energy, and adds to the film’s vibe. I’m sure people will love it!”

This Valentine’s season, prepare to be swept away on a wave of nostalgia as Junglee Pictures’ beloved romantic comedy Bareilly Ki Barfi makes a grand return to the silver screen today! In a fresh healthcare initiative, entrepreneur Upasana Kamineni Konidela recently announced the establishment of Model Anganwadi Centre at Pithampuram on the occassion of Chairman Dr. Prathap C Reddy’s 93rd birthday. This new initiative looks after empowering women and ensuring children’s health, by improving sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition. It focuses on providing maternal and child healthcare for the critical first 1000 days, and personalised nutritional interventions to ensure zero malnutrition and reduce maternal and infant mortality to zero.

Beyond healthcare, the initiative also focuses on customised curriculums for both mothers and children, empowering families with knowledge on health, hygiene, and early childhood education. It also includes the provision of clearly defined jobs for Anganwadi workers and staff, and the deployment of digital health records for tracking the health outcomes of women and children. It aims at sustainability, holding regular workshops to engage fathers, families, and local communities in supporting women and children. Located in Pawan Kalyan’s constituency, this initiative ensures high visibility, with the potential for nationwide implementation through the Prime Minister once proven successful.

On the 93rd birthday of Chairman Dr. Prathap C Reddy, a phased initiative will be undertaken to beautify and enhance 109 Anganwadi Centres in Pithapuram district. Through this initiative, Upasana Kamineni Konidela looks forward to redefining Anganwadi Centres by addressing healthcare, nutrition, education, empowerment, and sustainability, and creating a health ecosystem that sets a benchmark for women and child development progress nationwide.

South Indian actress Pushpalatha passes away at 87 after prolonged illness

Renowned South Indian actress Pushpalatha passed away on February 5 in Chennai at the age of 87, following a prolonged illness. With a career spanning several decades, she acted in over 100 films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema.

Pushpalatha made her Tamil film debut in 1958 with Senkkottai Singam and entered the Malayalam film industry in 1969 with Nurse, directed by Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair. Over the years, she earned recognition for her performances in notable films such as Sarada, Paar Magaley Paar, Naanum Oru Penn, Yarukku Sontham, Thaaye Unakkaga, Karpooram, Jeevanaamsam, Dharisanam, Kalyanaraman, Sakalakala Vallavan, Simla Special, and Puthu Vellam.

Pushpalatha shared screen space with legendary actors such as M.G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan. Some of her most memorable roles include her performances in Rajinikanth’s Naan Adimai Illai and Kamal Haasan’s Kalyanaraman and Sakalakala Vallavan.

Beyond acting, Pushpalatha was a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and also ventured into film production, producing two films. In 1964, she became the face of Lux soap advertisements, further solidifying her presence in the public eye.

Pushpalatha’s personal life was closely linked to the film industry. She fell in love with actor and producer AVM Rajan during the shooting of Naanum Oru Penn, and the two eventually married. The couple had two daughters, one of whom is Tamil actress Mahalakshmi.

Pushpalatha made her final silver screen appearance in the 1999 film Poovasam, directed by Sree Bharathi. After retiring from cinema, she devoted her later years to spirituality and social service, leading a life away from the spotlight. Her passing marks the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of actors and cinema lovers.

There are these two emotional scenes which he really liked. I asked him, ‘How did you think I could do this?’ He really liked those scenes and thought he could use me for this.”

Being injured during a crucial action sequence, the action director wanted Sooraj Pancholi to do a particular stunt by himself, where he had to jump over a pyrotechnics explosion. The timing of the explosion was slightly early, and the pyrotechnics exploded under him, unfortunately. Due to the heavy amount of gunpowder used, he suffered major burns on his thighs and hamstrings.

The sources also shared that there was a medical team onset that supervised Sooraj Pancholi and helped him get back on his feet so that he could resume shooting. Even after the painful impact of pyrotechnics, he refused to take a break. Sooraj Pancholi went on shooting for the entire schedule.

Sky Force BTS: DOP shares detailed account of shooting Adampur action sequence from the Akshay Kumar starrer

Sky Force, which is inspired by true events, is an aerial war drama that explores the lives of Indian Air-Force officers. Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role along with Veer Pahariya marking his acting debut, the film delves into India’s first airstrike, the Sargodha airbase attack of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965. From planning to post-production of Adampur Action Sequence – DOP reveals all about its shooting experience

Taking to his Instagram page, Santhakrishnan revealed anecdotes and trivia of how they managed to create the 60s era in 2024 and the details of lighting, camera, strategy and others by posting a series of photos and notes. He made references to some particular sequences like Adampur Action Sequence and the night scene at Hakimpet Airbase, among others. Along with that he also shared a note that read, ““SKYFORCE,” the film we shot last year, was a truly unforgettable experience. We completed this monumental project in just 52 days, a feat that would not have been possible without the collaboration of the production especially @poovijan & @atlyas , direction, cinematography, production design, and costume teams. Their collective effort helped bring the magic to life on screen. Govind Namdev reveals he is a ‘fan’ of Madhuri Dixit as he recalls shooting the controversial ‘rape scene’ in Prem Granth; says, “I was scared that something untoward might happen”

Known as one of the biggest female superstars of the 90s, Madhuri Dixit received much love for her powerful performances onscreen several times. Among the many was Prem Granth, which grabbed immense eyeballs from the audience as a rape scene from the film was caught in a controversy for being one of the brutal sequences in Indian cinema then. Now almost three decades later, as the antagonist of the film Govind Namdev recalls his experience of shooting the scene with a popular star like Madhuri, the actor confessed that he has become almost a devotee of her seeing her co-operation and support.

In an interaction with Hindi Rush, Govind Namdev was asked about the experience of doing such an intense and brutal scene. The actor revealed that he wouldn’t have been able to pull it off, had he not received immense support from Madhuri Dixit Nene. “I’ve become a fan of Madhuri because of this. When a seasoned actor like her supports a newcomer who is nervous and self-conscious, it allows them to perform at their best. That kind of cooperation is rare. Usually, actresses maintain their own aura, but she was so supportive from the beginning. As we interacted more, her attitude made me quite comfortable.”

The actor went on to add that the scene was one of the last sequences to have been shot and by then, he had formed a professional bond with Madhuri Dixit which helped them complete the scene much more smoothly. Yet, the veteran actor insisted that he was nervous and had folded his hands in front of her, requesting her permission to do the scene. However, he was left simply impressed when Dixit comfortably told him “Okay”. “I was scared that something untoward might happen, especially considering she was the number one heroine at the time. I didn’t want any misunderstanding or discomfort between us. Despite the temperament and brutality of the scene, she was quite co-operative”, insisted Namdev.

For the unversed, Prem Granth is loosely based on the novel ‘Tess of the d’Urbervilles’ written by Thomas Hardy and is directed by Rajiv Kapoor. The film starred Rishi Kapoor as the leading man along with Shammi Kapoor, Om Puri, Anupam Kher, among others.

Deva Box Office: Shahid Kapoor starrer shows some growth on Saturday, though just about

After opening at Rs. 5.78 crores on Friday, Deva showed some growth on Saturday and brought in Rs. 6.61 crores more. The good part is that at least the numbers are going up, as was evidenced from Friday evening itself when some sort of an upturn had started. That said, this is a big film and with the kind of credentials that it had, it should have actually started in double digit zone on Friday itself and then shown added growth.

Hence, one waits to see if there would be further growth today. Shahid Kapoor’s last release Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had started much higher at Rs. 7.02 crores on Friday and then on Sunday it had managed to score Rs. 10 crores. Now, Deva has a task in hand too to actually see much bigger jumps and reach at least close to that eventually.

So far, the film had collected Rs. 12.39 crores and hopefully Rs. 20 crores mark will be reached over the weekend. There are ample screens and shows available for it, so utilising available capacity is not a problem. What it requires is for masses to grab it further and Shahid Kapoor’s bravura act will be looked at to make this happen.

The film packs a punch with massy elements, solid action sequences, powerful dialogues, and is expected to be a cop action drama. SCOOP: Priyanka Chopra Jonas paid Rs. 30 cr for SS Rajamouli’s next

If sources are to be believed, Priyanka Chopra will walk away with a staggering Rs 30 crores fee, the highest ever paid to a female actor in Hindi cinema, for her female lead in S S Rajamouli’s untitled jungle adventure starring Mahesh Babu.

This fee, reportedly less than what Mrs Jonas had asked for, came after months of negotiation between the two teams.

“This is why they took so long to announce her participation in the project. She was not willing to budge over her fee, and why should she? Why should only the men actors get double-digit salaries in our films?” a source in the know informed this writer from Hyderabad.

With Rajamouli’s untitled jungle adventure, Priyanka Chopra becomes the highest paid Indian actress of all times.

More info on the film: the jungle action adventure will feature Mahesh Babu as a desi Rambo slashing his way through thick foliage. The actioner is likely to be shot in Thailand and also in India.

Sky Force Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer holds well on Monday

After collecting Rs. 15.30 crores on Friday and then going past Rs. 20 crores and Rs. 30 crores mark each on Saturday and Sunday, Sky Force needed to hold around 50% in order to have a good first week. This was also a bare minimum requirement for a century to be scored in one week flat. Of course, had the numbers stayed in double digits then it would have been even better but something over Rs. 8 crores needed to come.

Well, this is what happened as 8.10 crores came in and that’s less than 50% drop from Monday score of Rs. 15.30 crores. The film has the kind of content that goes for multiplex audiences, and this is where it’s scoring the most as well. Especially at the big cities, the film is showing better occupancy and in days to come this is what will bring in the best score as well.

The film has now scored Rs. 81.30 crores and an average of around Rs. 6-7 crores on a daily basis will take it past the Rs. 100 crores mark by the close of Week One. There is a flurry of releases in weeks to come, which means Sky Force will face not be without competition. The aim would be reach Rs. 150 crores lifetime and while Rs. 135 crores is a given for the film, it would be interesting to see how it bridges the gap from there till Rs. 150 crores.

Currently basking in the success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, Rashmika Mandanna has already jumped into her next release. With only a few days left for Chhaava to hit the screens, the actress, who plays Maharani Yesubai in the historical drama, is currently in the midst of promoting the same. Having suffered a leg injury, the actress continues to juggle between multiple projects she has in the pipeline.

“Switching personas is tricky, especially when I’m doing three to four films at the same time,” Rashmika admitted. However, talking about adapting a certain character, the actress added, “I’ve realised that surrendering myself to my directors and co-actors really helps. When you try to do everything yourself, there’s always going to be a bit of ‘you’ in the character. But when you fully trust your director and co-actors, their knowledge and confidence filter through in your performance”. She continued, “Of course, there’s always a part of you in the character because it’s your emotions and mind processing everything. But you mask all that with what the director has written and the energy your co-actors bring, and that’s what shapes the character.”

Actress shares a glimpse of her hectic life as she deals with a major injury

Amid the juggling game, Rashmika Mandanna is currently also dealing with a major leg injury. Sharing a series of photos from her recent busy schedule along with the medical scan reports of the injury, Rashmika also penned a note saying, “My life currently. Promoting Chhaava – I felt so honoured, blessed and grateful to have played Maharani Yesubai. She wouldn’t show her pain to her people and neither will I. Smiling through it all as always,” the actress said.

She went on to share, “My girls made it look so cute from the outside… But the inside there are – 3 fractures and a muscle tear… Haven’t put my foot down in 2 weeks – I really do miss just standing on my own two feet.” She signed off with a piece of advice for her social media fam as she stated, “Please do take good care of yourselves. And DO NOT TAKE IT LIGHTLY when people say that to you..!!  I am sending you all love and strength and I am holding all your love and strength very dearly. Biggest hugs to all of you.”

Varun Dhawan recently celebrated the 5th anniversary of his film Street Dancer 3D with a nostalgic social media post. He shared a series of throwback photos and a video, marking the milestone. The film, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, remains a fan favourite.

Shot in the secluded military cantonment areas of Jhansi, the film promises a gripping storyline, intense action, and heartfelt drama, capturing raw emotions and heroism.

Back in August 2024, Varun Dhawan shared his excitement about being part of Border 2 in a heartfelt post on X. He wrote, “Playing a role in Border 2, produced by J P sir and Bhushan Kumar, is a very special moment in my career. And I get to work with Sunny Paaji, which makes it even more amazing. I am excited to put a heroic Jawaan’s narrative to the screen in what promises to be India’s biggest war film. I seek your well wishes. Jai Hind!”

Varun Dhawan was recently seen in the action thriller Baby John. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, the film unfortunately failed to perform at the box office.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui recalls shooting for I’m Not an Actor in 2-degree temperature ahead of film’s world premiere at 2025 Cinequest Film Festival in California

What’s drawing ridicule isn’t just the nature of the case but the narrative being spun by certain sections of the media. Observers and fans alike are questioning the lack of effort in presenting a coherent and believable story, with some even joking that C-grade movies have better scripts and more convincing direction than what’s currently on display put forward by certain media outlets.

The plot surrounding this case seems riddled with inconsistencies, leaving many scratching their heads. Critics on social media are calling out the sensationalism and pointing to glaring flaws in the narrative, which they believe lack depth, nuance, and most importantly, credibility. “Thoda toh effort maro,” quipped one user, suggesting that those involved in shaping public perception need to put in at least some effort into scriptwriting, direction, and acting.

The media circus has turned what should be a serious case into something that feels more like a poorly directed drama, where even talented actors would struggle to salvage the production.
