Sonam Kapoor talks on her selective approach: “If I don’t like somebody, then it’s very hard for me to work with them”

Since becoming a mother to her son Vayu, actor Sonam Kapoor has experienced a profound transformation, with her child now being her primary focus. She acknowledges that motherhood has brought significant changes to her life, leading her to prioritize her son above all else.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, actress Sonam Kapoor discussed her heartfelt tribute to the late fashion designer Rohit Bal during the Blenders Pride X FDCI Fashion Tour 2025 in New Delhi. She expressed deep emotion, reflecting on her long-standing relationship with Bal and his significant influence on her fashion journey.

Earlier this month, during the Blenders Pride X FDCI Fashion Tour 2025 in New Delhi, Sonam Kapoor paid an emotional tribute to the late fashion designer Rohit Bal by serving as the showstopper. She graced the runway in a flowing white gown complemented by a heavily embellished ivory jacket, her hair elegantly styled and adorned with red flowers. The poignant moment overwhelmed Sonam, and she was visibly moved to tears as she walked the ramp.

Sonam said, “For me, he was someone that I really loved and walked for and understood. I’ve known him through my mom because he knew my mom really well. So, I’ve known him almost my whole life. It feels quite emotional and I’m glad to be here. Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has done a wonderful job honouring his legacy and celebrating his incredible contribution to Indian couture.”

In reflecting on Rohit Bal’s influence on her personal style, Sonam Kapoor expressed her admiration for his designs. She stated, “Well, I love anarkali. I’ve worn that white anarkali many times and on multiple occasions. I’ve worn his clothes at milestone places, and I feel like he’s such an integral part of the way people look at fashion in India, so it’s influenced me and my style in a huge way.”

In her approach to selecting new projects, Sonam Kapoor emphasizes the importance of personal growth and meaningful collaborations.

“Anything that makes you grow as a human being, and I also like to work with people I like. If I don’t like somebody, then it’s very hard for me to work with them,” Sonam said, revealing that she is being very selective with her projects.

“100% being selective just means that I’m intentional about what I choose,” she ended.
