The buzz around Raja Shivaji continues to grow, and now Ajay Devgn has added to the excitement with a warm public message for Riteish Deshmukh aka Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh and the upcoming historical epic. The actor took to social media to cheer for the film, offering his support in a gesture that has already caught fans’ attention.

Ajay Devgn, who earlier portrayed the legendary Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), gave the shoutout a special touch by referring to himself as ‘Tanhaji’ while saluting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the film.
Sharing the Hindi version of the Raja Shivaji anthem ‘Chhatrapati’ on his Instagram Stories, Ajay wrote, “Tanhya chya naman, Raje! This looks incredible! Wishing you nothing but glory for #RajaShivaji @riteishd Jai Shivray!” The message has resonated strongly with audiences, especially considering Ajay’s previous association with Maratha history through Tanhaji, which emerged as one of the major successes of 2020. His endorsement has further amplified curiosity around Riteish Deshmukh’s ambitious project.

Raja Shivaji is a significant milestone for Riteish, who is not only acting in the lead role but has also directed, written and produced the film. The historical drama chronicles the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, one of India’s most revered warrior kings and the founder of Hindavi Swarajya. The makers are now preparing for the trailer launch scheduled for April 20, which is expected to offer a larger glimpse into the scale, storytelling and visual treatment of the film.
The ensemble cast features names from both Hindi and Marathi cinema, including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, Genelia Deshmukh and Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Presented by Jio Studios, the film is a Mumbai Film Company production and has been produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh.
Raja Shivaji is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026, in Marathi, Hindi and Telugu. With the trailer launch around the corner and Ajay Devgn’s endorsement adding momentum, the film has strengthened its position as one of the most anticipated historical releases of the year.
