Actor Arjun Rampal recently opened up about a deeply personal and traumatic memory from the night of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, revealing how his experience shaped his connection to the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

The actor shared that he had witnessed the horrifying events firsthand back in 2008. As reported by Hindustan Times, Rampal recalled that he was out celebrating his birthday when the attacks began, describing the night as deeply unsettling. Reflecting on the experience, he said, “I saw what was happening, it was terrifying.” He added that the memories of that night have stayed with him ever since, making his association with Dhurandhar deeply personal. Talking about his role in the film, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal said, “Dhurandhar was my revenge.” He indicated that portraying a character connected to those events allowed him to channel his emotions and revisit a chapter that had deeply affected him.
The film itself draws inspiration from the 26/11 attacks and larger geopolitical tensions, blending real-life events with fictional storytelling. For Rampal, however, the project carried a much more personal weight. He further hinted at how revisiting those memories during filming was intense but also cathartic, giving him an opportunity to express emotions that had remained with him for years.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which released recently, has been generating significant buzz for its high-octane narrative and performances. But for Rampal, beyond the scale and spectacle, the film stands as something far more meaningful, a personal response to a tragedy he once witnessed up close.
