As Fitoor completes ten years since its release, producer Pragya Kapoor reflects on the film’s journey and the role it played in shaping her perspective on filmmaking. Starring Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur, the romantic drama continues to be revisited by audiences, with its music and visuals still circulating widely on social media.

Marking the milestone, Pragya Kapoor shared how reading the script became a defining moment for her. “I remember the first time that I read Fitoor, it’s written by Abhishek Kapoor and Supratik Sen. That script is a masterclass in script writing. I’ve read a lot of scripts since then, before that and I think I have learned so much about filmmaking from that script. Honestly, it’s one of our best-written scripts till date,” she says.
She also spoke about how the film influenced her career path. “Fitoor opened my eyes to what producing is. It made me fall in love with producing, and it’s one of the reasons I am producing. Those visuals and music is still relevant, and people are still posting about it, are still being nostalgic about it. And I think that’s the beauty of filmmaking. You don’t make a film for now, you make a film for forever, and I think Fitoor did that!” she adds.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Fitoor is a romantic musical drama inspired by Charles Dickens’ 1861 novel ‘Great Expectations’. Known for its Kashmir backdrop, music, and stylized storytelling, the film has continued to find viewers over the years. As it marks a decade, the film remains a notable chapter in Kapoor’s journey as a producer.
