Shruti Haasan has associated herself with a socially significant project by lending her voice to the trailer of Silent Screams: The Lost Girls of Telangana, a first-of-its-kind Telugu true crime documentary now streaming exclusively on Sun NXT. The documentary brings focus to deeply disturbing and often unheard stories, shining a light on issues that demand urgent public attention.

By narrating the trailer, Shruti uses her voice and platform to support a cause rooted in awareness and accountability. A glimpse of the trailer was earlier shared on social media with the note, “Very proud to share the trailer of Silent Screams: The Lost Girls of Telangana. A haunting, necessary story that gives voice to those who were silenced. The first-of-its-kind Telugu true crime documentary. Now streaming exclusively on Sun NXT”.

Speaking about her association with the project, Shruti highlighted the emotional responsibility she felt while engaging with the subject matter. She said, “When I heard these stories, I felt an overwhelming responsibility to be part of telling them. Silent Screams is not just about what happened, it’s about what continues to happen in the lives of those affected. This is a conversation we cannot afford to postpone. We owe it to every woman who has been silenced.”
A few months prior to the trailer release, the makers had also shared a behind-the-scenes video of Shruti from the dubbing studio, offering a glimpse into her involvement with the documentary. Expressing gratitude, the team had written, “A meaningful day for Silent Screams. We had the honour of recording with Shruti Haasan, whose voice and perspective have added a new emotional layer to our documentary.
