The team of Ikkis recently visited the National War Memorial in New Delhi to pay tribute to India’s fallen heroes, marking a deeply emotional and reflective moment ahead of the film’s release. Actors Agastya Nanda, Simar Bhatia and Jaideep Ahlawat were seen standing in silence, heads bowed, as they honoured the martyrs whose courage and sacrifice continue to define the spirit of the nation. The visit underscored the profound responsibility the team feels while bringing such a powerful real-life story to the big screen.
The moment carried added significance as Ikkis is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, one of the youngest recipients of India’s highest wartime gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra. At just 21, Khetarpal displayed extraordinary bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, ultimately laying down his life in service of the country. Standing at the memorial, the cast and team reflected not only on his exceptional valour, but also on the countless unnamed soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice so future generations could live in freedom.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films, Ikkis aims to celebrate courage, duty and selflessness without glorification, focusing instead on the human cost of war and heroism. The film seeks to honour Arun Khetarpal’s legacy while also paying homage to every soldier who chose service above self.
Scheduled for a Christmas release, Ikkis is positioned as not just a cinematic experience, but a tribute a reminder of the true meaning of patriotism, sacrifice and valour that continues to inspire the nation.
