Vidaamuyarchi makers issue statement about the Ajith Kumar being delayed

Ajith Kumar fans have been eagerly waiting to see him return to theatres after Thunivu and the actor was expected to make a grand entry this Pongal with Vidaamuyarchi. While the entertainer also sees Ajith reunite with popular star Trisha Krishnan, their recent track, which was unveiled recently, only added to the anticipation. But much to the disappointment of the actor’s fans, the film has been pushed further, extending the wait.

Lyca Productions issue statement on film’s delay

Ahead of New Years, the makers of Vidaamuyarchi, Lyca Productions took to the social media platform X aka Twitter, to share this bad news by sharing a photo of the statement. Apart from that, they also posted a note about the postponement as they wrote, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, the release of VIDAAMUYARCHI is postponed from PONGAL! Kindly stay tuned for further updates! The wait will be worth it!” Along with the same, they also shared New Year wish for their social media fam.

Netizens react to the post

While some netizens slammed Lyca Productions for delaying its release, a few others lashed out at the production house for its wrong timing. “At least you should have told this after a few days; you just spoiled AK fan’s New Year celebration mood.. Anyway, the movie will be a blockbuster whenever it releases,” wrote one of the users. Another one said, “Poor planning from Lyca”. One of the angry users asked for a ban of the production house, because of the constant delay in the movie’s release.

The action thriller, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, also stars an ensemble cast which includes the likes of Arjun Sarja, Arav, Regina Cassandra and Ramya Subramanian in key roles. The film follows a husband who is on the search of his wife, who went missing during their vacation to Azerbaijan. With music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the cinematography is handled by Om Prakash and editing is completed by N. B. Srikanth.
