Piyush Mishra announces UdanKhatola international tour with band Ballimaaraan, to span India, US, Canada, UK

Actor-writer-musician Piyush Mishra is set to launch his international music tour, UdanKhatola, with his band Ballimaaraan. Kicking off in November, the band will tour various locations in India before expanding to three countries: Canada, the US, and the UK.

The UdanKhatola tour, which will span over 15 cities across India, will begin on November 9 in Kolkata and then travel to cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Indore, Bhopal, Pune, Thane, Raipur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kanpur among others.

Last year, Piyush Mishra recalled, the band performed almost 20 shows across India, along with an additional 12 shows abroad. The goal for 2024 is to reach new audiences in cities that have yet to experience the magic of their live performances.

“I was surprised to see how the audience responded to my songs, written decades ago, and yet they still resonate with people today. Our shows attract a wide audience, from 20- year-olds to 60-year-olds. That’s why we couldn’t resist planning this extensive UdanKhatola tour, reaching places where we haven’t performed before and giving more people the chance to experience Ballimaaraan live,” Piyush Mishra said in a statement.

Curated by Rahul Gandhi, Founder & CEO of Tamboo Entertainment, he revealed that his idea behind Ballimaaraan has always been about making the audience experience something new and unique. Now with the announcement of the UdanKhatola tour the team is all ready to turn this idea into reality.

He revealed that the last leg of the tour will see Ballimaaraan go international with performances across three continents. Gandhi also revealed that there will be a special ‘Entourage Tour Bus’–ferrying Piyush Mishra and his closest friends from the industry–which will be a “moving hub for spontaneous jam sessions, intimate conversations, and stories that shaped their journeys.”

The tour will conclude with the release of Piyush Mishra’s first album, UdanKhatola, marking a key moment in his musical career.

UdanKhatola is curated by Tamboo Entertainment and produced jointly with Thinking Hats.

Rahul Gandhi sais, “The name of this tour is itself an ode to Piyush Mishra and his genius mind, which is always restless, a flying machine, soaring freely through the realms of life. It reflects his insatiable thirst for exploration and constant endeavour to experiment with his craft. This tour is a manifestation of that flight – a journey through his thoughts, memories, and craft.”

In addition to the music, the UdanKhatola tour will also serve a broader purpose. The band will partner with a local NGO through their “Play for Paws” initiative, which focuses on the welfare of stray dogs in each city they perform in. By collaborating with these organizations, the band aims to raise awareness and support initiatives that provide shelter, food, and medical care for stray animals across India.

“Music is about creating connections, and we believe it’s important to extend that connection to the communities we visit – not just through our music, but through meaningful action,” added Rahul.

Ballimaaraan, recognized for its distinct musical style, has a dedicated fan following thanks to Piyush Mishra’s impactful lyrics, the band’s unique sound, and the satirical edge present in songs like “Aarambh,” “Husna,” and “Ghar.” More details about the tour, including the dates for its global leg, will be announced soon.
