Vikrant Massey who is currently enjoying the success of the teaser of his much anticipated film The Sabarmati Report, has expressed his deep gratitude on his 2023 blockbuster film 12th Fail celebrating the film’s first anniversary. The actor has time and again proven how he is the most exciting actor that we have with his mind blowing performances in Haseen Dilruba and Sector 36 to name a few.

Vikrant emphasized how fortunate he feels to have worked on a project that not only tells a compelling story but also resonates profoundly with audiences, he said, “I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in 12th Fail. A film that told a truly inspiring story. It feels even more special after seeing the audience’s reaction, and I sincerely thank them for all their love shown towards the film and me.”

This appreciation extends to Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film’s director, who played a pivotal role in bringing this story to life, “A special thanks to Vidhu Vinod Chopra sir for giving me this opportunity; it’s a film that’ll always remain close to my heart. It was a remarkable journey that I shall forever cherish,” Vikrant said.

On the work front, Vikrant will next be seen in The Sabarmati Report alongside Raashi Khanna, Ridhi Dogra which releases in theatres on November 15.

Starring Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma, Vanvaas is written, produced and directed by Anil Sharma and will be released worldwide by Zee Studios. The film will be a Christmas release and will hit the theaters on 20th December 2024.

Yo Yo Honey Singh reveals he once spent over Rs 38 lakhs at Dubai club; says, “I paid a bill so high that I returned home empty-handed”

Yo Yo Honey Singh is recognized for his extravagant and flamboyant lifestyle. In a recent interview, the singer and rapper shared an experience of spending ₹38 lakh in a single night at a club in Dubai. He revealed that he partied with 31 people and covered the entire bill for everyone.

In a conversation with Mirchi Plus, Honey Singh discussed the most expensive purchase he has ever made. The rapper noted that he has invested a significant amount of money in his extravagant parties, revealing that he spent over Rs 38 lakh at one party in Dubai and returned home empty-handed. He said, “I have spent a lot of money in my life on parties. I would realize I paid a bill so high that I returned home empty-handed. This happened in 2013, 8 of us went to a party at a club, all of us drunkards. I’m talking about that time when Dubai used to be very costly, but now it’s cheaper. We’re having a party, bottles are coming to our table and so are girls from other tables”

The rapper reminisced about how the party began with just eight men, but as the night went on, more people joined their table. He explained that the club combined four tables to accommodate everyone. By the end of the night, the bill reached ₹38 lakh, and he used three credit cards to cover it. Singh added, “There are 23 girls and 8 boys at our table, and we have combined 4 tables, making our entourage quite large. Drinks are flowing on the table, and we received a bill of ₹38 lakh, which was paid using 3 credit cards in just one night.”

Singh rose to fame in the early 2010s with his group, Mafia Mundeer, quickly establishing himself as a rising talent in Punjabi music before making his mark in Bollywood. The rapper took a hiatus from the industry after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder but made his comeback in 2023. He is set to appear in an upcoming documentary that will be released on Netflix India.

Sai Pallavi opens up on rejecting PR advice for fame: “I refused because it’s gonna offer nothing”

Sai Pallavi is preparing for the release of her upcoming film Amaran, co-starring Sivakarthikeyan. In a recent interview promoting the movie, she shared insights into her unique approach to fame. Sai candidly revealed that someone from Bollywood once suggested she hire a PR agency to increase her public visibility.

Sai Pallavi said, “A person from Bollywood asked me whether I need a PR agency to boost myself. So that I can be in the limelight and everyone talks about me.”

However, the Amaran actress denied the offer, stating that such exposure would bring no value to her profession. She added, “I refused because it’s gonna offer nothing & people will be bored if they continuously speak about me.”

In the same interview, Sai Pallavi reflected on her debut film Premam, starring Nivin Pauly. She admitted she was initially hesitant to take on the role and said, “I never agreed to act in Premam at first. Director Alphonse Puthren had called me, but I didn’t believe it.”

Sai Pallavi further explained that she initially thought it was a prank. Sai shared, “I thought, as a medical student, there was no place for me in cinema.”

For those unfamiliar, Sai Pallavi was studying medicine in Georgia when the opportunity to star in Premam came her way.

In the interview, she also recounted sharing a video of her Tango dance performance around that time. However, she quickly noticed that the audience’s response didn’t quite match her expectations.

We are still shooting for it, and the film should be released in April next year. I am really looking forward to it.”

As the actress boasts an amazing lineup ahead, she is also shooting for Sardar 2, in early morning schedules, which will feature her alongside Karthi.

Coming to The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, the film will see Prabhas exploring the horror comedy genre, which is quite rare for the massy superstar. It also boasts of an ensemble cast and will feature Nidhhi Agerwal, along with Sanjay Dutt, Riddhi Kumar, Murali Sharma, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, among others. The film is slated for release on April 10, 2024 and is expected to release in multiple languages.

Meanwhile, Sardar 2 is an upcoming Tamil spy action thriller film directed by P. S. Mithran and produced by Prince Pictures.

Google pays tribute to KK with doodle on his Bollywood debut anniversary

Google celebrated the legacy of Indian playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, also known as KK, with an animated doodle on Friday, October 25. This tribute marks the anniversary of his first Bollywood song, ‘Chhod Aaye Hum,’ which was released on this day in 1996 as part of the film Maachis, directed by Gulzar.

The Google Doodle features KK standing and singing with a microphone in hand, set against the backdrop of the Google logo. The illustration is enhanced with musical notes and star emojis, encapsulating the vibrancy of his musical journey. 

In a note on their website, Google explained the significance of the doodle: “This Doodle celebrates Krishnakumar Kunnath, also known as KK, a successful Indian playback singer most known for his versatility. He is widely remembered for recording songs in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, and Gujarati.”

A Rich Musical Legacy

KK is celebrated for his contributions to the Indian music industry, having recorded over 500 songs in Hindi and more than 200 songs in languages such as Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam. His ability to connect with listeners through heartfelt performances is reflected in his popular tracks, including ‘Khuda Jaane,’ ‘Ankhon Mein Teri,’ and ‘Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai.’ Throughout his three-decade career, he became synonymous with emotional and versatile singing.

The singer’s untimely passing on May 31, 2022, in Kolkata, left a significant void in the music world.

Vasan Bala deletes twitter account after backlash over Jigra’s Box Office struggles

Director Vasan Bala, whose recent film Jigra underperformed at the box office, appears to have deleted his Twitter (X) account. Until recently, he had been actively sharing posts and responding to comments, but now his replies show up as blank boxes with the message, “This post is from an account that no longer exists.”

Bala had been defending the Alia Bhatt-starrer against trolls, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he mentioned that box office numbers aren’t the sole measure of a film’s success. However, this remark sparked backlash, with many social media users labeling him “arrogant” for dismissing the audience’s feedback.

Some members of the audience have questioned why Vasan Bala became the face of Jigra after its box office failure, while Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina were actively promoting the film prior to its release.

Jigra faced off against Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, at the box office. Although Raaj Shandilyaa’s film also struggled to gain traction, it outperformed Jigra.

Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Jigra garnered ₹ 26.39 crore nett in India till 20^th October. The film stars Alia Bhatt as a protective elder sister who helps her brother, played by Vedang Raina, escape from a foreign prison.

Featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, Vasan Bala’s Jigra was one of the year’s most anticipated films. However, it struggled at the box office and faced some controversies following its release. In a recent interview, the director expressed his desire to analyse what went wrong with Jigra.

In a discussion with Fever FM, Vasan Bala addressed the film’s failure, noting that it has been labelled as Alia Bhatt’s “lowest box office opener” to date. He admitted that he felt he had let Bhatt down with the film’s disappointing outcome. He said, “She is the first choice for everyone. She could have been on any other film set, but Jigra, during that time. So, she has to make that choice. And she has trusted me with that choice. So, it is my responsibility to deliver box office because we are in the business of filmmaking also.”

Bala stated that he wanted to investigate what went wrong with Jigra. He said, “So, which is why I need to analyse. Kuch toh hua hai na (Something has happened, right)? Something has happened where people have stayed away, something that they have not bought, something that they didn’t feel the need to come to the theatre. If at all any other actor decides to give their time, his or her, then you know, make it worth it.”

Jigra earned Rs. 4.55 crores on its opening day in India. Following its release, the movie became embroiled in several controversies. Divya Khosla criticized the filmmakers for allegedly manipulating box office figures and for plagiarizing her film, Savi. Additionally, Manipur actor Bijou Thaangjam accused the creators of discrimination and “unprofessional behavior.”

The film was produced by Dharma Productions and presented by Viacom18 Studios and Eternal Sunshine Productions. The plot centres around a sister who goes to great lengths to rescue her brother from a prison overseas.

Singham Again: Rohit Shetty reveals the unique point in the Ajay Devgn starrer

Ever since the trailer of the highly-anticipated Singham Again has been unveiled, the excitement for its release is quite palpable. Bringing together a bevy of stars, the brief four-minute clip unveiled the close connection that the film shares with the mythological saga of Ramayana as it focuses a lot on the ‘Seeta Apaharan (Kidnapping of Goddess Sita)’ and the aftermath. Readers would be aware that the mythological saga of Ramayana featured a massive battle that ensues between Lord Rama and Ravana after the kidnapping of Seeta, who is held captive in the Ashoka Vatika Forest in Sri Lanka. Referring to the same, Rohit Shetty revealed that they have shot portions of Singham Again in the actual spot where the Goddess was held captive. The filmmaker opened up about the same and said, “We travelled all the way from Maharashtra to Sri Lanka.  The locations are all places where the incidents have happened. Many of us know the story but not the actual location where it happened. So that is the unique point in this film.”

Speaking of Singham Again, the film marks the third instalment of the Singham franchise and the fifth in the Rohit Shetty copverse. Starring Ajay Devgn in the titular role of police officer Bajirao Singham, it stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as his wife Avni, Arjun Kapoor as the antagonist, along with Ranveer Singh as police officer Simmba, Akshay Kumar as Anti-terrorism squad officer Sooryavanshi, Deepika Padukone as IPS Shakti Shetty, Tiger Shroff as ACP Satya, and Jackie Shroff too features in a key role. The film will release during Diwali this year.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Box Office: Manages to go past Rs. 2 crores mark on Saturday, stays in quest for Rs. 40 crores lifetime

For Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video to have any chance to go past Rs. 40 crores lifetime, the need of the hour was for Saturday as well as Sunday to surpass Rs. 2 crores milestone. Ideally, Saturday needed to be at least Rs. 2 crores and then if Sunday somehow managed to cross Rs. 3 crores, then it would be a reasonably better positioning that this comedy drama could have found itself in.

This has happened with Saturday doing its job and resulting in Rs. 2.25 crores* being collected at the box office. On Friday the film had brought in Rs. 1.50 crore* so this is still a reasonable enough jump. Currently, this is what the film needs, which is to not crash out completely and keep bringing in some sort of footfalls. With no new releases around it and competition (Jigra) not being hard either, this Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer is living on to complete two more weeks in theatres and in the process bring on some moolah.

Currently, the film stands at Rs. 29.25* crores and it will be close to Rs. 32 crores mark by the time the weekend is through. Post that, Rs. 35 crores mark should be comfortably crossed by the close of second week and thereafter it should somehow pull off a Rs. 40 crores lifetime due to one more absolutely open week ahead.

Saif Ali Khan then said that Neelam Kothari was paired opposite him in the first film that he shot for, Parampara (1993). Neelam Kothari noted that she was also cast in the debut movies of Govinda and Chunky Panday. Bhavana Panday raised laughs with her naughty remark, “There are at least ten boys who had their firsts with Neelam (laughs)!” Neelam was left shocked and amused.

Saif Ali Khan then talked about his debut film experience. “I was so clueless,” he said. “I was straight out of an English boarding school and the great Yash Chopra ji was directing us. I remember Aamir telling me, ‘You know, Yash ji has only worked with great actors. So, he’s not going to be able to help you’! And I thought, ‘What? What do you mean?’!”

Neelam Kothari shared an anecdote, “There was this very serious scene. His dialogue was, ‘Sorry, I am late’. No one looked at him. And then he had his iconic dialogue, ‘Hey guys. Pratap has landed’. I swear to God, he did the shot 15-20 times. We could not stop laughing. By the end of it, Yash ji wanted to kill us.”

Saif Ali Khan revealed about the shoot of the song, which was presumably ‘Mere Saathiya’. He said, “The late Saroj Khan ji set the choreography for the song which had just Neelam and I holding hands and jumping up and down like this!” Both Neelam and Saif got up and jumped with all of them having a hearty laugh.

Saif Ali Khan sat down and graciously admitted, “You still look so cute when you do it, Neelam. It looked respectable only because of you.”

Kajol reveals Shah Rukh Khan told her to “Learn how to act” when she decided to quit after her third film: “At the tender age of 18-and-a-half…”

Actress Kajol recently opened up about her early struggles in the industry, revealing that she nearly quit acting after just her third film. In a candid conversation with India Today, Kajol shared how her fatigue and disillusionment with heavy-duty roles had taken a toll on her career, and how a piece of advice from her Baazigar co-star Shah Rukh Khan helped her push through.

Burnout After Her Third Film

Kajol, who began her career at the young age of 18, quickly found success in the industry but also faced burnout early on. Recalling her experience while working on the film Udhaar Ki Zindagi (1994), which was just her third movie, she admitted to feeling mentally and physically exhausted. “I remember turning around and telling my mother, ‘Mom, I’m done. Wow. I’m burnt out. At the tender age of 18-and-a-half, I am done. I cannot move anymore. I cannot cry anymore. I cannot put glycerin anymore,’” she said.

The constant pressure of performing emotionally intense roles had taken its toll, and Kajol, at that point, considered quitting acting. She expressed her desire to star in films with lighter, more mainstream content, adding, “I wanted to do four scenes, ten songs. And I signed four films like that. That’s where Gundaraj, Hulchul, and others came from.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s Advice That Changed Everything

During this challenging phase, Kajol’s co-star Shah Rukh Khan offered her some advice that would shift her perspective on acting. He suggested that she needed to “learn how to act” so she could enjoy the craft more deeply. “Shah Rukh was like, ‘You know you just have to learn how to act.’ I was like, ‘What is this? What is he talking about? Of course, I’m doing a fabulous job!’” Kajol recounted.

While his words initially baffled her, the advice eventually resonated. Kajol soon realized that developing her acting technique would allow her to take on more diverse roles and enjoy the process. She added, “I learnt the technique of acting after that.” This shift in approach helped her build one of the most enduring and successful careers in Bollywood.

Kajol is now gearing up for the release of her upcoming Netflix thriller Do Patti, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. In the film, she stars alongside Kriti Sanon, who plays a double role, while Kajol portrays a cop investigating a mysterious case. Additionally, the actress has another film, Sarzameen, produced by Karan Johar, in her pipeline.

Pawan Kalyan to join the shoot of OG as it resumes in Hyderabad

Pawan Kalyan is all set to set the screen on fire with his upcoming action-packed film OG, directed by Sujeeth. Touted to be a Pan India action entertainer, the film is expected to have resumed its shoot in Hyderabad with an electrifying action sequence currently underway. The film, which has generated immense buzz since its announcement, is set to raise the stakes with Pawan Kalyan gearing up to join the set soon for his share of high-octane stunt scenes.

Along with Pawan Kalyan in the lead, the film promises to take audiences on a gripping ride with adrenaline-pumping action sequences. Since its announcement, the Sujeeth directorial OG is a gangster drama that has captured the attention of fans. With Pawan Kalyan also becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in the recent elections, this excitement surrounding OG has only amplified. Adding to the intrigue, apart from Kalyan, the film boasts of an extensive cast ensemble that includes Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist, alongside Sriya Reddy, Priyanka Mohan, and Arjun Das in pivotal roles along with veteran actor Prakash Raj playing a prominent character.

Director Chris Sanders opens up on his upcoming film The Wild Robot; says, “A story that’s going to make you laugh, cry, and want to call your mom immediately”

Three-time Academy Award nominee Chris Sanders’ animated film The Wild Robot has generated significant attention since its inception. As it approaches its theatrical release on October 18, anticipation among audiences is rising. Universal Pictures India (distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery) enlisted stand-up comedian Abish Mathew for a pre-release interview. Mathew spoke with Sanders and actress Lupita Nyong’o, who voices Roz, the film’s central character, to discuss insights about the project.

During the exclusive interview, Abish Mathew, an animation nerd himself, delved into The Wild Robot’s creative process with director Chris Sanders and voice actor Lupita Nyong’o. Mathew then spiced things up with a special rapid-fire round of fan questions, sourced from ‘Reddit.’ Each question posed by eager Indian fans was delivered in a different voice, adding a playful banter to the conversation. Mathew set the tone and said, “Rapid fire, quick questions, quick answers, except I’m going to try to do it as characters, just so that you get a flavor of what kind of questions these are. Are we good to go?” To this, Sanders laughingly replied, “Okay, I’ll warn you, I may be bad at this. Yeah, so I’m not a quick-answer person, so I’ll do my best. I’m so excited. The rapid-fire segment offered fans some exclusive insights into Chris Sanders’ thoughts, including his excitement for the film’s music and the emotional impact it may have on viewers.

The conversation took an interesting turn when Abish Mathew asked Sanders, “How did you balance action, adventure, and heart in The Wild Robot?” The director replied, “Through many iterations. And, by having a crew around me that is willing to disagree and point out my mistakes and my editor going, this doesn’t belong; we should move it.” When another fan asked, “How badly is this movie going to make us cry? I need to prepare in advance,” Sanders responded, “Possibly very, very badly. Be prepared” Another fan followed up with, “What message do you hope audiences take away from the movie?” to which he thoughtfully noted, “That sometimes you may have to exceed your programming; change your programming in order to accomplish a mission. And that kindness is definitely a strength.” Mathew wrapped up the segment, adding, “The Wild Robot, a story that’s going to make you laugh, cry, and want to call your mom immediately.”

Based on Peter Brown’s #1 New York Times bestseller, The Wild Robot follows the journey of Roz, a robot stranded on a remote forest island, learning to survive in the wilderness. The film features a voice cast that includes Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, and Stephanie Hsu. After its premiere at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, The Wild Robot is set to be released in English and Hindi in theaters across India on October 18, 2024.

Do Patti trailer launch: Kajol steals the show; says she did not take tips from Ajay Devgn for playing a cop; declares that she’s the BIGGER Singham in the house than Ajay

Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Kanika Dhillon, Shaheer Sheikh and Monika Shergill launched the trailer of the thriller Do Patti at a studio in Mumbai. The event was memorable as Kriti Sanon was celebrated for her ‘triple role’ on this project – two in the film – and one as a debutant producer. Shaheer Sheikh got the maximum cheers while Kanika Dhillon and Monika Shergill talked about the film and the importance of writers. Kajol, meanwhile, stole the show with her chirpiness and answers.

Kajol was asked to comment on playing a police inspector for the first time. She also brought her hubby Ajay Devgn, who’s known to play arguably the most loved cop of Indian cinema, Singham.

Kajol said, “I have worked for so many years and whenever you wear clothes for a shot, it feels like a uniform. Aisa lagta hai ki kisi aur ke kapde pehen rahe hai toh uniform hi lag raha hai, be it saree, salwar kameez, pant-suit etc. But when you wear a police uniform and go on set, you feel different. I have not asked Ajay Devgn what he feels!” As expected, there were hoots at the mention of Ajay

Kajol continued, “It gives you a sense of authority and respect that you feel for yourself and everybody else in uniform. You know you are an actor and that it’s not your uniform. Still, aapke andar ek josh aata hai. There’s a certain kadak-ness that comes in your posture. I really enjoyed playing a cop and I’d love to do so again.”

During the question and answer round, Kajol was asked to comment on Ajay Devgn’s Singham avatar. Kajol quipped, “I just want to tell you that I did not take any tips from him. Just FYI!”

Another journalist asked who is a bigger Singham in the house between her and Ajay Devgn. Kajol, in her trademark style, replied, “Dekhiye, yeh maine pehli bhi kaha hai aur har stage pe kaha hai ki asli Singham (points at herself) yahan pe baitha hai!” As expected, this became the most memorable moment of the event.

Interestingly, Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again releases in cinemas on November 1 while Do Patti drops on Netflix on October 25.

Rajkummar Rao REACTS to his wealth assumptions, says he isn’t as rich as assumed to be: “I’ve been paying a hefty EMI for a house I bought”

Despite his recent success in Bollywood, Rajkummar Rao has clarified that he is not as wealthy as many assume. The actor, who scored a place in the Rs 600 crore club with Stree 2, candidly discussed his finances on the YouTube channel Unfiltered with Samdish.

In the interview, Rajkummar expressed surprise at the assumptions people make about his financial status. He stated, “Yaar, honestly itna paisa hai nahi jitna logon ko lagta hoga ki ye toh bhai Rs 100 crore. Itna nahi hai. Bhai, EMI chal rahi hai. Matlab ghar liya hua hai, uski EMI hai achhi khasi.”

This revelation underscores the reality that financial responsibilities persist even for successful actors. He continued, explaining that although he does have financial means, the reality is far from the perception. “Toh matlab aisa bhi nahi hai ki nahi hai. Par aise wala bhi nahi ki aaj mann kia ki showroom mein ja ke, ‘Kitne ki hai wo?’ ‘Sir, Rs 6 crore ki.’ ‘De de’.”

When asked about purchasing luxury items, Rajkummar was realistic about his spending capacity. He humorously noted that while he could potentially buy a car worth ₹50 lakh, it would require serious consideration: “Rs 50 lakh ki, de de, but discussion hoga uspe. Ek second, le toh sakte hain, le le kya?”

He emphasized that a car in that price range would bring him stress, indicating a more prudent approach to financial decisions. On the other hand, he confirmed that he could comfortably purchase a vehicle worth Rs 20 lakh.

Rajkummar also touched on the psychological effects of sudden wealth among actors, noting that it can create a disconnect from reality. He mentioned, “It doesn’t feel right when actors get too much money overnight because it messes with their psyche.”

Rajkummar Rao’s Upcoming Projects

Currently, Rajkummar is gaining attention for his latest film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa.
